Clancy Murphy

Clancy William Murphy was born on March 22, 1959, to Eugene and Ellie (Arthur) Murphy in Long Beach, California. Clancy's family moved to Ralston, Nebraska when he was two. He attended school in Ralston until his senior year. The family moved to Dunlap, Iowa and Clancy graduated with the class of 1977 from Dunlap High School. On February 14, 1981, Clancy married Karol Davie at her parents' home in Dunlap. Clancy worked for Schemmer Rock Quarry in Logan, managed the golf course clubhouse in Dunlap, and also worked at Aaron Ferer & Sons in Omaha for 15 years. He spent the last 18 years of his life working at Farm Service Cooperative in Denison, Ida Grove and Harlan. He loved to drink beer and watch the Chicago Bears play. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing. His favorite thing to do was gather with his family on Saturday nights and barbeque.

Clancy died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 59 years and 26 days.

Clancy was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Kelly, Mike and Barney Murphy; and niece, Chrisy Murphy. He is survived by his wife, Karol Murphy of Dunlap, Iowa; three children, Tim (Alisha) Murphy and Katie (Joel) Miller all of Dunlap, Iowa, Ryan (Jodi) Murphy of Davie, Florida; four grandchildren, Camden Block, Tucker Murphy, Nash Murphy and Ellie Murphy; five siblings, Lorraine (Kenny) Houston, Ann (Denny) Behrendt, Mary (Ron) Fouts all of Dunlap, Iowa, Wally (Anita) Murphy and Ed Murphy all of Omaha, Nebraska; three sisters-in-law, Lois Murphy of Vail, Iowa, Cathy Murphy and Betty Murphy both of Dunlap, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
