Dean Gaines

Lawrence Dean Gaines was born on November 10, 1935, to Floyd and Pearl (Waterman) Gaines in Fremont, Nebraska. He was an only child, and he was raised and attended school in Fremont. On June 4, 1967, Dean married Leah Spickard in Lincoln, Nebraska. The couple moved to Iowa and bought a farm east of Pisgah. Dean milked cows and farmed that ground for 18 years of his life. He also worked for Westmont Nursing Home and drove residents to their various doctor's appointments. Dean enjoyed calling BINGO at Rose Vista. He had the perfect voice for it too! His favorite vitamin was Mountain Dew. Dean lived a humble, low-key, appreciative life full of jokes and happiness.

Dean died on April 17, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 82 years, five months and seven days.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Pearl Gaines; and his wife, Leah R. Gaines in 1999. He is survived by many good friends.
