Lucille Ellen (Golden) Mathison was born March 6, 1936, to Gladys (Overman) and William Ernest Golden in Woodbine, Iowa. She was raised in Woodbine and graduated from high school in 1955. After graduation, she worked in Omaha as a file clerk for Securities Savings and Loan.Lucille married James Mathison on January 13, 1957, at the RLDS church in Woodbine. The couple lived in Council Bluffs and then moved back to Woodbine. Over the years, Lucille worked various jobs, including helping Vera Farnsworth during tax time, at Rose Vista as a cook for 19 years, Woodbine Tea Room, Congregate Meal Site, and Foodland.

Lucille loved to play scrabble with her sisters. She loved music and dancing, especially the polka. Over the years, she liked going to the Gold Slipper whenever the Hanson Band was playing. She was an avid reader and loved her flowers.

Lucille died at Rose Vista Nursing Home on July 28, 2019, at the age of 83 years, four months, and 22 days.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son, Jeff; four brothers, Dwight, Vernon, Ernie, and Kenny Golden; and two sisters, Jessie Smith and Louise   Jensen. She is survived by her children, Karen (Jerry) Kelley of Harlan, Iowa, Keith (Dawn) Mathison of Woodbine, Gale (Kim) Mathison of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Lyn (Dan) Moores of Woodbine; daughter-in-law, Robin Mathison of Bellevue, Nebraska; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Janis (Larry) Douglas of Woodbine and Janet (George) Letson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
