Wanda Lea (Jones) Weber

July 19, 1930 ~ October 1, 2018 (age 88)

    Wanda Lea Weber was born on July 19, 1930, to Harry and Neva (Fouts) Jones on a farm home near Dunlap. Wanda attended country school through eighth grade. She attended high school in Dunlap and graduated with the class of 1948.

     Wanda became ill with tuberculosis in 1949, and she entered Oakdale Sanitarium for one and a half years. She regained her health and took book keeping training while there. After returning home, Wanda was employed at Farmers Elevator in Dunlap for a short time. She later worked for Parker Pen Service in Omaha as a bookkeeper.

     Wanda married Gerald Weber on January 12, 1955, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Susan and Lucille. Wanda lived in Dow City where Jerry worked various jobs. In 1971, Wanda began working for the Department of Human Services and was employed there for 22 years.

     Wanda enjoyed her family, friends, and church. She volunteered at various jobs. She was a member of the Dow City Community of Christ Church. She very also cherished music, going on picnics and her pet animals. 

     Wanda died at her home on October 1, 2018, attaining the age of 88 years, two months and 12 days.

     Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jerry in 2005 and her beloved   daughter, Susan Kay Weber in 2009; two sisters, Pauline Wilkens and Nadean Probasco and brother, Wayne Jones. She is survived by her daughter Lucille Weber of Austin, Texas; sister, Pat Vanderford of Lincoln, NE; other relatives and friends.
