Alice (Chase) Campbell was born January 20, 1950, to Faye & Guilford Chase in Denison, Iowa.  Alice, or Mimi as her family called her, was raised in Dunlap and graduated from high school in 1968.  She received an Associate's Degree in operating room surgical technology from Iowa Western Community College.  She began working at Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, OR in 1969.  In 1971, she met James Campbell in Tucson, AZ and they married the     following year.  The couple settled in Roseburg, OR in 1973, and Alice started working at Mercy Hospital.  In 1974, Alice worked for Douglas Community Hospital in the operating room and in the  intensive care unit.  Alice returned to school and completed her registered nursing degree in 1985.  In 1991, Alice became the operating room supervisor at Roseburg SurgiCenter.  She held this position for 12 years before taking the position of nursing administrator of Guam Surgicenter on the island of Guam in 2003.
   
   Alice enjoyed traveling around the world.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family and church and being involved with the Girl Scout of America.  In her spare time she like to sew, SCUBA dive and river raft.
   
   Alice died on Thursday, December 29, 2005, in Roseburg,     Oregon after a struggle with cancer of the appendix attaining the age of 55 years, 11 months, and nine days.
   
   Alice was preceded in death by her father.  She is survived by her husband, James Campbell of Roseburg, OR; two daughters, Heather and her husband Paul Grehan of Roseburg, OR, Holly and her husband Clint Allen of Portland, OR; mother, Faye Chase of Dunlap, IA; siblings, Byron & Irene Chase of Defiance, OH, Kay & Steve Oliver of Des Moines, IA, Richard & Judy Chase of Roseburg, OR, Louise & Charles Cox of Moorhead, IA, Keith & Robin Chase of Dunlap, IA, Roger & Julie Chase of Dunlap, IA, Jon & Kayleen Chase of Woodbine, IA, Douglas & Rinat Chase of Coos Bay, OR, Steve & Lisa Chase of Spencer, IA and Rachel & Robert Kroll of Dunlap, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and close friends.
