Alice Nadene Davis was born at home on March 27, 1927, to Melvin and Ollie (Miner) Davis in Pawnee City, Nebraska. She was baptized at the Pawnee City United Methodist Church at age 10. She graduated from Pawnee City High School with the class of 1946. After high school, Alice started working at the S&G Store in Pawnee City. She also worked at the drive-in diner on the weekends. Alice worked at the S&G store until she retired.
Alice found joy in simple pleasures, such as completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, crocheting beautiful creations and indulging in the serene art of birdwatching. She moved to Woodbine in her later years to be close to family. A true caregiver at heart, Alice enjoyed caring for the children within her family. She took great pleasure in nurturing and supporting them as they grew, always providing a safe haven where they could feel loved and cherished. Additionally, Alice played a pivotal role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of her aging parents. With unwavering dedication, she cared for them so they could remain in the familiarity and warmth of their own home for as long as possible. Alice was a support to her siblings and in their times of need offered her helping hand without hesitation or reservation. Her generosity and willingness to assist others were constant reminders of the extraordinary person she was.
