Alice Marie (Hatcher) Sall was born on January 3, 1925, to William and Effie (Nuzum) Hatcher in Post, Texas. She was raised between Missouri Valley and Logan by the golf course. She attended country school. On June 18, 1944, Alice married Dick Sall. After Dick's honorable discharge from the Army the couple returned to Harrison County and started farming northwest of Logan on the Willow bottom. The couple moved to Minnesota and in 1995 returned to Woodbine.

Alice was an excellent cook. She raised chickens and a large garden including flowers. Additionally she enjoyed crocheting and watching birds ~ especially Martins. The couple enjoyed dancing. Most of all Alice loved her family.

Alice died on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 90 years, two months, and 11 days.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Sall on December 14, 2012; five sisters, Inez, Lula and Ethel Hatcher, Bessie Becker, Opal Archibald and four brothers, Harvey, Andrew, Glen and Bill Hatcher. She is survived by her seven children, Connie Stegemann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carol (Bill) Michael of Dow City, Iowa, Dwight (Fayne) Sall of Vero Beach, Florida, Duane (Rebecca) Sall of Honey Creek, Iowa, Diane Mathison and Dennis Kerger of Woodbine, Iowa, Cindy (Chris) Hughes of Red Oak, Iowa, Debbie (Kevin) Smith of Woodbine, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
