Anna Ethel (Adams) Clausen was born February 19, 1913, in Washington D. C. to Linwood and Ethel (Burch) Adams. She died on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center in Clarion, Iowa. When Anna was three years old she moved with her parents and two sisters to a farm in Orange County, Virginia. In March of 1919 the family moved to a farm near Woodbine, Iowa. Anna received her education in Harrison County rural schools and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1931. She taught in rural schools for 13 years and was a substitute teacher in the Logan and Magnolia areas teaching at the grade school level and also special education. Anna married Earl Clausen at the Church of Christ in Boone, Iowa on June 30, 1940. They made their home on the Clausen farm 1 ½ miles west of Logan. Anna lived here for 55 years before moving to Logan in 1994 and then to Clarion in 2008 to be closer to her son.

Anna made her confession of faith and was baptized in the Woodbine First Christian Church in the fall of 1927. She then transferred her membership to the Logan Christian Church in 1940. Anna was an active member in church and taught in the primary department Sunday school for 37 years. She also helped with Vacation Bible School, was on the Senior Citizen and Encouragement Committees and she served as the secretary of the memorial committee for several years.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl Hans Clausen; two sisters, Lucy Massie and Edna Bishop; two sisters-in-law, Marie Campbell and Mildred Virtue; and three nephews, Randy and Jimmie Bishop and Lin Massie. She is survived by her son, Warren E. Clausen and his wife Juliann (Waechter) Clausen and their daughter Kimberly Joy Clausen all of Clarion, Iowa; sister, Nola Musgrave of Palmer Lake, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
