Betty Hansen

Betty Marie Hansen was born on October 9, 1936, in Harrison County to George and Thelma (Gibson) Barrier. Betty was a homemaker until her children were in junior high. She held many jobs including a convenience store clerk, waitress and manager at the Town Inn Motel in Woodbine. She also was a cook at the Harrison County Jail and worked at West Central Development Corporation until 2011.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She particularly enjoyed her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping with Max and playing computer games. She also enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren how to sew and crochet. Holidays with her family is what she treasure the most.

Betty died on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 77 years and seven days.

Betty was preceded in death by her father; first husband, Junior Dale Coleman; son, Rick Coleman; two brothers, George (Shorty) Jr. and Thomas Barrier; and son-in-law, Don Schneider. She is survived by her mother, Thelma Barrier of Woodbine, Iowa; two sons, Mike Coleman and special friend Sherri Wohlers of Logan, Iowa and Jeff Coleman and his wife Kim of Woodbine, Iowa; two daughters, Laurie and her husband Russ Trierweiler of Dunlap, Iowa, Barb Coleman and her special friend Dave Pierce of Denison, Iowa; eight grandchildren; sister, Jeannie Barrier of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
