Betty Jane (Brasel) Wingrove was born May 15, 1932, to Earl and Thelma (Walworth) Brasel in Dow City, Iowa. She was raised in the Dow City area and graduated from Dow City High School in 1950. She worked at Mutual of Omaha. Jane married Jack Wingrove on November 11, 1951, at the chapel at Denison's United Methodist Church. While Jack drove trucks, the couple lived in Omaha, Dunlap, and Cheyenne, Wyoming before returning to Dunlap in 1991.

Jane was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dunlap. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school over the years. She also enjoyed going for coffee, playing bingo, gardening and canning. She particularly enjoyed watching butterflies.

Jane died on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at her home in Dunlap at the age of 81 years, eight months, and 11 days.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Wingrove on May 31, 2010; son, Dale; and sister, Judy Trimpe. She is survived by her four children, Dian (Ron) Olson of Apache Junction, Arizona, Dana (Dean) Erlbacher of Earling, Iowa, Doug Wingrove of Wendover, Nevada, Deb (Robbie) Henry of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter-in-law, Denise (Wingrove) Sawicki of Burns, Wyoming; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Darla Rae (Denny) Anderson of Huntsville, Alabama; brothers-in-law, Louie Trimpe of Dunlap, Iowa and Don Wingrove of Marshalltown, Iowa; sister-in-law, Carolyn Wingrove of Dow City, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends.
