Robert "Bob" Lee Frieze was born January 30, 1936, to Harold and Victoria (Brown) Frieze in Council Bluffs, Iowa. At the age of 17 he joined the Navy and proudly served his country from 1953 to 1957. He made torpedo nets in California and then served on a mine ship. On February 23, 1957, Robert married the love of his life, Delores Cornelison, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs. The couple met when he was only twelve and she was nine and were married for fifty-two years and adopted four children. They lived in Council Bluffs until 1976 and then moved to Persia until 1998 when they moved to Harlan.

Robert worked at Paul Luch Body Shop in Omaha for 38 years, retiring in 1998. He then worked part time at the Harlan Tribune until 2008.

Robert loved his family and spending time with them. He also enjoyed bowling, farming, camping and watching the Chicago Cubs.

Robert died on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 75 years, eight months, and five days.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores; son, Mark; two brothers, Virgil and Harold Frieze Jr.; and sister, Joanne Levenhagen. He is survived by his two daughters, Susan and Dean Esser of Portsmouth, Iowa, Nancy and Dave Gau of Council Bluffs, Iowa; son, Larry and Angie Frieze of Council Bluffs, Iowa; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
