Bobbie Stueve

d. January 1, 2014

Woodbine, Iowa

Bobbie Joe Stueve was born December 17, 1928, in Orson, Iowa to Manlee J. and Hazel (Ruffcorn) Stueve. He lived in Orson until he was about 10 years old when the family moved to the Missouri bottom area near DeSoto Bend. He attended country school and then Missouri Valley High School, there meeting Marifrances and graduating in 1947. Bob married Marifrances (Keller) on September 29, 1948. The couple lived in DeSoto Bend for three years before moving near Woodbine in 1952, where they farmed until their retirement. Marifrances passed away on November 5, 2010, and thereafter Bob continued to reside on the farmstead south of Woodbine.

Bob trapped muskrat, mink and beaver to raise money for the kids' Christmas presents. Christmas was a wonderful time for Bob and Marifrances and Bob always made sure it was extra special for their children and grandchildren. Bob loved to farm and enjoyed the challenge of making his land very productive. Later in life, Bob and Marifrances were founding members of the Circle 8 square dance club, held various offices, and danced with the group for over 30 years. Bob and Marifrances also traveled all over the world, met many lifelong friends while traveling, and spent many summer vacations fishing in Minnesota with family and friends.

Bob died on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 85 years and 15 days. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marifrances. Bob is survived by his twins: son Jerry Stueve, his wife Mary and their children Sarah and Jennifer, of Logan, Iowa; and daughter Sherry, her husband Dennis Fay, of Amherst, Wisconsin, their children Daniel and Erin and Erin's husband Brian King. Bob is also survived by his sister, Bonnie Hornbeck of Logan, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.
