Carl Behm

Carl Bernard Behm was born on December 17, 1934, to Frank Delbert and Nellie Irene (Hobbs) Behm in Modale, Iowa. He attended school in both Missouri Valley and Dunlap at St. Joseph Catholic School. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years in Germany. In February of 1959, Carl married Janice Barnum at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Carl worked for Farris Trucking, Rief Trucking and Dilts Trucking all in Crescent, Iowa. He drove a truck for 45 years as both a profession and as a hobby.

Carl died Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Max, Maurice, and Fritz Behm; and father-in-law, Ed Barnum. He is survived by his wife, Janice Behm of Woodbine, Iowa; four children, Mike Behm and Lisa of Omaha, Nebraska, Tammy Hively of Woodbine, Iowa, Yvette and her husband Bill Penrose of McGregor, Iowa, Angie and her husband Junior Porter of Woodbine, Iowa; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Louis Behm and his wife Bernadine of Missouri Valley, Iowa; sister, Phoebe and her husband Calvin Hulsebus of Dow City, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
