Carla Francine Carse was born on December 16, 1948, in Kennedy, Texas to Francis “Bud” and Mabel (Bloomquist) Carse. The family moved to Magnolia, Iowa in 1964 and she grew up in Magnolia. Carla attended and graduated from Logan-Magnolia. She went on to earn her nursing degree from Nebraska Methodist. For thirty devoted years, Carla worked with the Red Cross, dedicating her life to helping those in need. Her career was marked by her tireless efforts and her innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Carla was also able to be the caregiver to her mother, who lived to be 100 years of age, a job she truly enjoyed.

Carla was well known for her warm and welcoming nature. One of her cherished traditions was hosting the Carse Christmas Eve gathering with her mother, where their family would come together to celebrate the spirit of the season. Her home was a haven of joy, laughter, and love, made even warmer by her signature crochet blankets, which she shared with her family.

Carla died on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Bellevue Medical Center, in Bellevue, Nebraska, at the age of 77 years and eight days.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Brian. She is survived by her brother Cody Carse and his wife Kathy of Omaha, Nebraska; nephew, Randy Carse; niece, Sarah Carse; great niece, Jocelyn Carse; and many other relatives and friends.
