Carol Warner Armstrong was born on December 16, 1946, in Westchester, Pennsylvania to Harvey and Marjorie (Thomas) Hale. Being a military family, the Hale family moved many times during Carol’s early years. She attended school in Plattsmouth, Nebraska and Bellevue, Nebraska where she graduated in 1965. Carol began her working years at Mutual of Omaha. She was united in marriage to James Armstrong on September 17, 1966, at the SAC Chapel on the Offutt Air Force Base. They were blessed with four children, Jamie, Heather, John and Mark. Carol was an amazing provider to not only her family but many others as she ran a daycare for over 24 years. She also worked at the St. Columban Father’s Mission for 14 years. Carol was baptized and confirmed at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Bellevue and after moving to the Logan, Iowa area in 1996, she started attending the St. Anne Catholic Church in Logan.

Carol's passions were as varied as the beautiful patterns she so skillfully crocheted. A dedicated reader, she found joy in the pages of countless books. Her love for country dancing brought her to many joyous gatherings, where laughter and companionship filled the air. Carol also loved bird watching, where she found solace and tranquility in the beauty of nature. In addition to her hobbies, Carol was an enthusiastic shopper, often sharing her finds with those around her. Her presence on social media, particularly Facebook, served as a bridge that connected her to friends and family near and far. She enjoyed playing bunco, cherishing the friendships that formed around the game nights with laughter and camaraderie. Carol's greatest joy, however, was her family. They were her pride and her heart.

Carol died on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha at the age of 78 years, eight months and 20 days.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Stephanie Grooms; and brother, Thomas Hale. She is survived by her children, Jamie and her husband James Tucker of Westmoreland, Tennessee, Heather and her husband Doug Pitt of Missouri Valley, Iowa, John Armstrong and his wife Kim of Logan and Mark Armstrong and his wife Kim of Logan; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; siblings, Lynn Bradburn of Bellevue, David Hale and his wife Leslie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, James Hale and his wife Ruth of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Allan Hale and his wife Julie of Omaha and Nancy and her husband Richard Jochem of Edison, Nebraska; best friend, Connie Malone; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
