Carole Barnes

Carole Kaye Barnes was born December 17, 1943, to Marguerite (Michael) and Edward Barnes in Iowa City, Iowa. She was raised on a farm near Logan before moving with her family to Omaha in 1955. She attended school in Omaha and was employed at West Communication in Omaha.

Carole was a caregiver to many family and friends. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, camping, and taking trips to the zoo. She loved to leave her shoes behind and go barefoot.

Carole died on Sunday, September 9, 2012, at the Regency Nursing Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 68 years, eight months, and 23 days.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Barnes; three sisters, Betty Butcher, Donna Drogemeier and Marian Seidel; and brother-in-law, Dale Gardner. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Jackson and Laura Moore and special friend Paul Fortina all of Omaha, Nebraska; special friend; nine grandchildren, Austi, Nicholas, Kyle, Aaron, Morgan, JC, Cory, Jamie and Kaylee; three great grandchildren, Makenna, Erika, and Gabe; six siblings, Gladys Gardner of Moorhead, Iowa, Joan Williams of Logan, Iowa, Shirley Cullifer of Norfolk, Virginia, Bonnie Worley of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Beverly Zoll of Omaha, Nebraska, Norman Barnes and his wife Chris of Omaha, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
