Craig McAllister

Craig Eugene "Mac" McAllister was born July 25, 1953, to William and Eunice (Thorson) McAllister in Sioux City, Iowa. He was raised in Sioux City and then graduated from Central High School in 1971. While in high school he participated in football and wrestling. Mac attended Augustana College and received his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 1975. He taught math at East Monona High School from 1975-1998 and from 1998-2012 he taught math at Boyer Valley High School. While at East Monona he also taught Drivers' Education, computer classes and coached football, girls' basketball and girls' track.

Mac was a member of the Riverside Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes. Mac loved teaching, he loved all of his nieces and nephews and his daughter, Whitney, was his shining star. Mac also enjoyed talking about sports, fishing, playing tennis and slow pitch softball.

Mac died on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at his home in Moorhead at the age of 60 years and six months.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Whitney McAllister and special friend Philip Chase of Logan, Iowa; four brothers, Steve McAllister and his wife Shannon of Spencer, Iowa, Jeff McAllister and his wife Sandy of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Tim McAllister and his special friend Robin of Yankton, South Dakota, Dan McAllister and his wife Lanelle of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many other relatives and friends.
