     Dale Ernest Knauss was born on December 1, 1949, in Logan, Iowa to Ernest and Helen (Grosvenor) Knauss. He graduated from Logan Magnolia High School in 1968 and pursued further education at Iowa Western Community College, where he attended mechanic school for two years. Dale was united in marriage to Helen Snow on November 16, 1974, in Elmo, Missouri and they were blessed with five children, Amanda, Alison, Josh, Amber and Alex. 

     Dale worked for U-Haul in Council Bluffs, Iowa while also farming and raising pigs. His careers also included working for Delbert Bach, Bomgaar and a rewarding twenty-year tenure farming alongside Doug Rosengren. Dale was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his responsibilities. Dale had a love for the great outdoors, especially hunting, which was one of his cherished hobbies. He was a storyteller at heart, finding joy in sharing tales and reciting poems. The warmth of family and extended family gatherings was particularly dear to him, and he loved family holiday celebrations.

     Dale died on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Azria Health Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 75 years, nine months and four days.

     Dale was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Helen of Logan; children: Amanda Knauss of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Alison and her husband Jason Alford of Joplin, Missouri, Josh Knauss and his wife Paige of Tekamah, Nebraska, Amber and her husband Andrew Francis of Wahoo, Nebraska and Alex Knauss of Louisville, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Kale, Stephen, Jala, Caleb, Nathan, Ollie, Liam, Nora, Abigail and Finley; sister, Hazel and her husband, Merrill Mohn of Woodbine; brother, Neil Knauss of Logan; and many other relatives and friends
