Danny Schmidt

Daniel Adam Schmidt was born May 4, 1983, to Gary and Jeannie (Bray) Schmidt in Sioux City, Iowa. Danny grew up in Sloan, Iowa and Wayne, Nebraska. He attended Wayne High School and then moved to Sloan and graduated from Westwood High School in 2001. Danny then attended Western Iowa Tech Community College for two years to study graphic design. Danny worked in several places in the Sioux City area before settling in Pisgah as a local craftsman.
Danny enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed cooking, wood working, spending time with his family and friends; especially with his nephew Brayden.
Danny died on August 16, 2013, at the age of 30 years, three months and 12 days.
Danny was preceded in death by three grandparents; three step-grandparents; and step-father Dave Moorhead. He is survived by his mother, Jeannie Moorhead of Moorhead, Iowa; father, Gary Schmidt and his wife LeeAnne of Sloan, Iowa; two brothers, Jesse Schmidt of Omaha, Nebraska and Adam Hansen and his wife Kyra of Sherman Oaks, California; three sisters, Katie Schmidt of Sioux City, Iowa, Cori Hansen of Sioux City, Iowa and Megan Hansen of Sloan, Iowa; nephew, Brayden Rhymer of Sioux City, Iowa; grandfather, Lee Bray of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; grandmother, Darline Moorhead of Moorhead, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
