Debbie Petersen

Debra Dianne (McCord) Petersen was born December 2, 1957, to Harold R. and Elaine (Dai) McCord in Denison, Iowa. She grew up in Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1976. On June 11, 1982, she married Ronald Jurgen Petersen in Lake View, Iowa. The couple moved to Kiron, Iowa. In 1989 they moved to Austin, Texas and in 1993 to Westfield, Massachusetts.

Debbie enjoyed her friends, her cats, traveling, reading, scrapbooking, embroidering and old movies.

Debbie died on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at her home in Westfield, Massachusetts after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 57 years, five months and 26 days.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Harold McCord; paternal grandparents George and Vera (Hack) McCord and maternal grandparents Theodore "Ted" and Hattie (Doidge) Dai. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Petersen of Westfield, Massachusetts; mother, Elaine and her husband Larry Ruhde of Carroll, Iowa; parents-in-law, Minard J. and Susan Petersen of Lake View, Iowa; two sisters, Cheryl and her husband Leo Block of Omaha, Nebraska, Darcy and her husband Jamie Winther of Pisgah, Iowa; brother, Keith McCord of Denison, Iowa; stepmother, Nancy McCord of Pisgah, Iowa; brother-in-law, Minard E. Petersen and his wife MaryAnne of Rochester, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Dianne and her husband Dean Graeve of Lytton, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
