Debra Dee (Branstetter) McCurley was born September 27, 1960, to Cecil and Charlene (Dinsmore) Branstetter in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She was raised in Logan and graduated from LO-MA High School in 1979. Debbie married Keith Jipp in 1982. The couple lived in the Logan area and was blessed with two children, Amy and Doug. Debbie then started Kids-R-Us, a day care center. In 1990 Debbie had a son, Cole Jacob. She then went back to school for nursing and became a registered nurse. She worked at the Blair Nursing Home, Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley and at Jennie Edmundson in Council Bluffs. Debbie married Shad McCurley in January of 1996 in Logan, Iowa. She then worked at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley and Westmont in Logan.

Debbie enjoyed spending time with her children and family. Her granddaughter, Kasey, was born in 2005 and was the joy of her life. She also enjoyed antiquing and "treasure hunting." She enjoyed collecting wooden boxes and tins, camping, fishing, mushroom hunting and being outside. She was an avid Minnesota Viking football fan. She also enjoyed watching Tony Stewart race cars and listening to Tom Petty.

Debbie died on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 51 years, nine months, and 22 days.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Charlene Branstetter on September 2, 2011. She is survived by her husband, Shad McCurley of Missouri Valley, Iowa; three children, Amy (Tommy) Schwertley of Logan, Iowa, Doug (Kendra) Jipp of Logan, Iowa, Cole Jacob of Montana; granddaughter, Kasey Schwertley; father, Cecil Branstetter of Logan, Iowa; sister, Joanie (Pat) Shields of Logan, Iowa; brother, Mike (Tricia) Branstetter of Magnolia, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

There will be a public visitation on Monday, July 23rd begining at 2 pm with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 pm Monday at the Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine, then a private family graveside at the Frazier Cemetery in Rural Missouri Valley, Iowa.
