Deloris Newland

Deloris Faye (Schroeder) Newland was born on December 27, 1939, to Henry and Hertha (Petersen) Schroeder near Aspinwall, Iowa. Deloris graduated from Manilla High School in 1958. After high school she moved to Council Bluffs and started working at Blue Star and then at Jennie Edmundson Hospital as a nurse's aide. Deloris married James Newland on January 10, 1970 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Woodbine, and the couple was blessed with one child, Susan. She also worked in the kitchen at Pronto. She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing pinochle and Yahtzee.
Deloris died on Monday, March 14, 2016, at the Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 16 days.
Deloris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Stephen) Olson of Crescent, Iowa; sister Margaret Kuchel of Manning, Iowa; brother Roger (Diane) Schroeder of Thayer, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.
