Denise Howard

Denise Lanette Howard was born on February 27, 1953 in Pisgah, Iowa to Everette and Carolyn (Carrigan) Howard. In 1959, Denise became a resident of the Woodward State Hospital in Woodward, Iowa. During the time she was in Woodward she would spend almost six months at home with her family. In August of 1977, she returned to Davenport to live with her parents. She worked at a handicap developmental center for a number of years.

Denise loved to mow the lawn, drive her golf cart, work on jigsaw puzzles and watch Wheel of Fortune. Her biggest thrill in life was hearing and seeing trains.

Denise died on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at her home south of Pisgah surrounded by her family at the age of 64 years, two months and 20 days.

Denise was preceded in death by her father and brother, Lyle Eugene "Gene" Howard. She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Howard of Pisgah, Iowa; two brothers, Drew Howard of Pisgah, Iowa and Lynn Howard of Bellevue, Nebraska; one nephew, Nathan Patrick Howard of Raleigh, North Carolina; one great nephew; two great nieces and other relatives and friends.
