Dinah Kay (Brower) Vandemark was born August 7, 1956, to Russell and Mary (Barker) Brower in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was raised in the St. Joseph area and graduated from Central High School in 1974. Following her graduation she worked for St. Joseph Woods. Dinah married Mark Vandemark on March 25, 1978. The couple lived in Des Moines, Iowa and Kearney and Blair, Nebraska before settling in Logan, Iowa. She worked at the Good Samaritan Homes, Pamida, No Frills, ran a day care, Harvey's Fine Foods in the Deli Department, and Mosaic in Logan. Throughout all of these jobs she always had additional jobs of housekeeping, catering and face painting.

Dinah was a very talented and crafty woman using her talents in the food service. She collected pop tabs to buy wheelchairs for Shrine Hospital patients and would always be at the Shrine Circus to paint faces. She loved being a Shrine Lady. She belonged to the Tangier Shrine Provost Ladies group and was on their pistol team, she was also a member of the Shrine Staffettes. She was a 25 year member of the Valley chapter of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Piecemaker Quilt Guild and the coordinator for the Aktion Club.

Dinah died on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 59 years and 15 days.

Dinah was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Charlie Vandemark. Dinah is survived by her husband, Mark Vandemark of Logan, Iowa; two children, Russell Vandemark and Liddy Campbell of Chestertown, Maryland and Amy Vandemark and Derek Bucy of Missouri Valley, Iowa; six grand-children; twin brother, Danny Brower and sister, Linda and her husband Carl Collet all of Rolla, Missouri; mother-in-law, Grace and her husband John Shafer of Missouri Valley, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
