Donald Lewis Krajicek was born on February 4, 1933, to Joseph Frank and Clara Marie (Steyskal) Krajicek in Papillion, Nebraska. Donald was raised for a short time in Papillion and then he moved with his family to Dunlap, Iowa where he attended country school. Don started farming with his parents. He then proudly served his country in the United States Army Infantry during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he returned to farming. In the early 1960s Don purchased his farm west of Dunlap. He also drove truck for Hedstrom Concrete for a number of years. Don did a lot of custom work with baling, picking corn, and combining. Don and Sarah Nelson have been together since the 1970.
Donald was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. His greatest passion was farming.
Donald died on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at his home west of Dunlap, Iowa the age of 83 years, four months, and 29 days.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe Krajicek and Leonard Krajicek. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Nelson of Dunlap, Iowa; one brother, Ray Krajicek and one sister-in-law, Sally Krajicek all of Dunlap, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
