Doris H. (Marley) Michael was born May 21, 1928, to Platte and Nellie (Mefferd) Marley east of Woodbine. She attended country school east of Woodbine, then went to school in Logan starting in 6th grade. She graduated from Logan High School in 1945. She then started teaching the fall of 1945 in rural schools with a normal teaching certificate. In 1947, Doris married Robert W. Michael. The couple was blessed with three daughters and one son. While raising her family she attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska where she received her bachelor's degree in 1972. Doris taught school for 34 years. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Magnolia and 5th grade in Logan.

Doris was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Logan. She enjoyed quilting so much that she made many quilts for grandchildren as well as for various mission projects.

Doris died Sunday, January 2, 2005 at her home reaching the age of 76 years, seven months and 12 days.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Max Marley. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Robert W. Michael of Logan; son Robert J. Michael and his wife Becky of Logan; daughters Pam and her husband Bob Stoffel of Omaha, Nebraska Patty and her husband Wally Otey of Bellevue, Nebraska, Peggy and her husband Dean Corpman of Maxwell AFB, Alabama; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister Shirley and her husband Dave Cole of Eugene, Oregon and twin sister Dorothy Krapes also of Eugene, Oregon; sister-in-law Florence Marley of Logan and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Logan Fire & Rescue, Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Myrtue Memorial Hospice.

to the Nebraska Anatomical Board.
Her ashes will be buried at the
Woodbine Cemetery at a later date.
