Doris H. (Sessions) Sieck, was born November 22, 1916, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Alonzo and Maggie (Pool) Sessions. She grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1934. She then attended Commercial Extension College in Omaha and worked for Roberts Dairy. On February 26, 1939, she married Leonard T. Sieck in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple lived in the Council Bluffs area until March of 1948 when they moved to the Logan area to farm. Leonard died on July 4, 1993.
Doris was a member of the Logan Christian Church where she had been active with the ladies aide. She had been a member of Eastern Star and was a Past Matron. Doris was very active with her children. If an activity required someone's help, Doris was always the first to volunteer.
Doris died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at the Westmont Care Center in Logan attaining the age of 88 years, three months, and nine days.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Dorothy Longmeyer and Gertrude Strauss; and one brother, Walter Sessions. She is survived by her five children, Rev. Ted Sieck of Irwin, Iowa, Mary and her husband Marty Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Harold Sieck and his wife Jackie of Woodbine, Iowa, Bob Sieck and his wife Patti of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Charles Sieck and his wife Jane of Dunlap, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 7+ great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
