Edward Wayne Neron was born June 4, 1955, in Toronto, Ontario Canada. His parents were William and Mae (Akers) Neron. His childhood was spent going to school and helping his father on the farm. He also helped other farmers in the area. He left home when he was very young, working for several different people and in different fields of work but mostly enjoyed mechanics and driving trucks. He had also worked at a custom motorcycle shop where his true talents for fabricating and mechanical skills shined.
At the age of 18 he met his first wife; Eva and they were married soon after and started their family. Ed moved his small family to the west side of Canada, near Vancouver, Victoria, BC when he joined the Navy in the mid-70’s. He served in the Navy for 14 years and was a mechanical engineer. He traveled all around the world to different countries on naval ships. He and his wife decided to move back east to the Manotick, Ontario area to be closer to family. They had three sons who all currently reside in Canada. Ed drove for several different trucking companies driving long haul with refrigerated products and flatbed trailers hauling steel and he often came through the states on his travels.
Ed and his wife eventually divorced and in 2005 he met his second wife, Mary Freerking, a Denison, IA native. They traveled together for nine months driving truck. In June 2008 they married and Ed came to Iowa and became a permanent resident. Ed and Mary bought a home in Woodbine. He applied for a work permit and after three months he was then given approval to work in the states. He drove truck again and had worked for a few companies until his health started failing and was eventually put on disability. He had congestive heart failure and each year his health declined and he died October 21, 2020 at Nebraska Medical Center.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and his first wife Eva. Survivors include his wife Mary of Woodbine; three sons, William, Jason and Christopher of Canada; and half-brother and sister-in-law; and a half-sister; and many friends he had made during his years in Iowa.
