Dr. Enrique Enmanuel “Harry” Cohen was born on January 10, 1953, in Washington, D.C. to Dr. Enrique Cohen and Olga Bello. When he was young the family moved to the Dominican Republic. He attended Colegio Dominicano De La Salle and graduated in 1970. He attended medical school at University Autonoma de Santo Domingo where he graduated in 1979. Harry then moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he did his internal medicine residency at Creighton University. In 1984, Dr. Cohen started a private practice in Dunlap, Iowa where he served the Dunlap and Woodbine areas. In 1994, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Debra Pitt, at the Followers of Christ Church in Woodbine, Iowa and they were blessed with two boys, Caleb and Benjamin. Dr. Cohen served the citizens of Harrison County until his retirement in 2019. Harry was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

A true music enthusiast, Harry found immense joy in playing the bass and guitar. His love for music extended beyond performance, as he was an ardent admirer of progressive rock, particularly the works of iconic bands such as King Crimson and Genesis. He was also a part of local music groups including the Notables and the Loess Hills Choir, but music was not just a hobby for Harry; it was a vital part of his identity, a means through which he connected with the world around him. Harry had an adventurous side that was reflected in his appreciation for fast cars, often making comparisons to the thrilling lifestyle of James Bond. His zest for life also shone through in his nurturing of plants. Accompanying him in many of these ventures was his beloved shih tzu dog, Daisy. The bond they shared was undeniable, and she brought an abundance of companionship and happiness to his life. Harry's warmth and enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy will live on through the memories and experiences shared with family and friends.

Harry died on Monday, May 5, 2025, surrounded by his family, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 72 years, three months and 25 days.

Harry was preceded in death by his father, Dr Enrique Cohen and Debbie’s parents, Alvin and Dorothy Pitt. He is survived by his wife Debbie of Missouri Valley; sons, Caleb Cohen of Wayne, Nebraska and Benjamin Cohen and his wife Paige of Logan, Iowa; mother, Olga Bello of Omaha; siblings, Claudio Cohen of Santo Domingo, Madelaine and her husband Bill Adler of Omaha and Frederico Cohen of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; siblings-in-law, Mike Pitt and his wife Terri of Northboro, Iowa, Roger Pitt and his wife Margaret and Jon Pitt and his wife Michelle all of Missouri Valley; and many other relatives and friends.
