Esther Dague

Esther Isabelle Dague was born on September 7, 1942, to Lloyd and Ruth (Martin) Graham in Logan, Iowa. She graduated from Logan High School in 1960. Esther was married to Elvin “Pat” Dague on November 4, 1961, at the Logan Christian Church. She spent many years nurturing her family, creating a warm, loving home for them. Outside of the home, Esther worked as a secretary and then for many years as a cook at the Logan Magnolia High School.

Esther prided herself on maintaining an immaculate home, which was always filled with the aromas of her delicious cooking. She poured love into everything she did, from the meticulous care she took in gardening to the way she looked after her kids and grandchildren with unwavering affection. Esther enjoyed traveling, trips to the casino, bowling and found joy in taking walks. She also loved listening to music and attending concerts. She had a soft spot for animals, especially her cats and dogs who brought extra warmth and joy to her life. Esther was a proud breast cancer survivor, and she tackled every challenge life tossed her way. Her battle with Alzheimer’s later in life exhibited her enduring spirit, even as it presented obstacles for her and her family.

Esther died on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Azria Health Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 83 years, four months and 12 days.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn Hall; and brother-in-law, Dr. Donald Hall. She is survived by her husband, Pat Dague of Woodbine; children, Patty (Jim) Reisz of Woodbine, Tony Dague (Shirley Steele) of Riverview, Florida and Kevin Dague of Woodbine; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, Hannah, Easton, Tally, Josie, Kylon, Gavin and Kaleb; two great-grandchildren, Pailyn and Blayzn; and many other relatives and friends.
