Ethel Driggins

Ethel (McCann) Driggins was born on May 20, 1915 at Dunlap, Iowa to parents Peter & Margaret (Broderick) McCann. She graduated from the St. Joseph Catholic School in Dunlap, Iowa. In November of 1939, she married Frank "Pete" Driggins. The couple lived in San Diego, CA during World War II. They then moved back to Dunlap. Ethel had worked in the kitchen at the Dunlap Schools. Frank died on January 28, 1977. Ethel became a resident of the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center in December of 2001.

She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and active with the Altar Society there. She liked to play cards, bingo and go to the casino.

Ethel died on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at the Dunlap Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 88 years and eight months.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers Frank, John, Dell, Harvey and Joe and a sister Helen. She is survived by her three sons Brother Ed Driggins, OMI of Belleville, Illinois, Ron Driggins and his wife Tita of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mike Driggins of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two granddaughters; one grandson and many other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap, Iowa. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. Visitation will be from 3 - 9 PM Friday with a scripture service at 7:30 PM Friday at the Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap.
