Ferril Dale Quick, Jr. was born on May 13, 1939, in Dunlap, Iowa to parents Ferril Dale & Irene (Points) Quick, Sr. Dale grew up in various locations due to his father working for the railroad. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Dale then attended Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri on a football scholarship. He was injured in one of the football games. Dale married Judith Allen on June 18, 1959, in the RLDS Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Dale proudly served his country in the US Army.
