Gerald "Jerry" Charles Petersen, 84, of Boulder, Colorado died on Monday, June 26, 2017, at his home. Jerry was born March 25, 1933, to Lloyd and Lucille (Ferrell) Petersen in Logan, Iowa. Jerry attended several schools in Colorado and Iowa and graduated from Magnolia High School in 1951 as the salutatorian of his class. On July 1, 1951, Gerald married Beverly Brown in Magnolia. The couple moved to Washington, D.C. where Jerry worked as a fingerprint analyst for the F.B.I. They moved back to the Logan area were Jerry worked at Logan First National Bank, as the Harrison County Auditor, and worked for the State of Iowa as an Auditor. He also owned and operated the Perkins Florist in Missouri Valley, Iowa. In 1982, Jerry moved to Boulder, Colorado and worked as a supervisor in the fingerprint department for the Lakewood, Colorado Police Department.

Jerry liked to read, garden, and visit with family and friends. He especially enjoyed attending his high school reunions in his beloved state of Iowa.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marjorie Norman and Beverly Fox. He is survived by his two daughters, Vicki and her husband Michael Kimbell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Stacy and her husband Robert Kleven of Apple Valley, Minnesota; four grandchildren and four great grand-children; and many other relatives and friends.
