Gerry Gilbreath

Geraldine Marie (Terrell) Gilbreath was born April 21, 1934, to Elmer and Mae (Price) Terrell in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Gerry graduated from the Dunlap High School. She worked as a waitress at Cronks in Denison while she was in high school. On December 13, 1951, Geraldine married Thomas Gilbreath in the Congregational Church parsonage. The couple farmed near Moorhead, Iowa. Then they moved to Red Oak Iowa, and Fargo, North Dakota where Tom was a district sales manager for Occo feeds. In 1956 they moved to Hawley, Minnesota. The couple returned to Dunlap in 1965. They moved into town in 1990. Tom died on March 13, 2005. Gerry was a bus driver for the Head Start program in the early 70s. She also worked as a bookkeeper at Schimers Quarry in Logan.

Gerry was a member of the Congregational Church. In their retirement the couple would house sit and baby sit for people in Omaha and they also owned a workout facility in Dunlap. Gerry was an active member of the CB Club. They enjoyed traveling and wintering in Yuma, Arizona.

Gerry died on Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 82 years, eight months, and two days.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; son, David in 1976; and brother, Frances Terrell. She is survived by her daughter, Paula and her husband Jeff Campbell of Dunlap, Iowa; two sons, Rick Gilbreath and his wife Annette of La Vista, Nebraska; Bob Gilbreath and his wife Holly of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
