Graham Edward Daugherty was born October 5, 1940, to John and Vera (Quigg) Daugherty in Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised in Cleveland and graduated from Rosewood High School in 1958. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy in September of 1958. Graham married Lois Everett in Carrysville, Ohio on October 27, 1962. Graham proudly served his country in Virginia, Okinawa, San Diego, Cuba and Chicago. He served as a naval instructor at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, Maryland where he was the senior fire control technician. He retired from the Navy in 1978. He then worked as a general handyman for a few years and in 1980 became the general manager of CMI, Douglas Cable, New Path and Telepartners. The couple moved to Logan in 1982. After 26 years in the cable industry he retired in 2006. He began a new career at Huntel in Blair, Nebraska as an electrical engineer and worked there for four years.

Graham loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He was always coaching and teaching. He like to listen to country music. Graham also played in a band named Country Crackers. Additionally he enjoyed fishing, reading, working on houses, and coaching baseball. He also loved to race go carts and did this professionally.

Graham died Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 71 years, nine months, and 30 days.

Graham was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John, infant sister, Cheryl; and an uncle, Kenneth Miley. He is survived by his wife, Lois Daugherty of Logan, Iowa; three children, Karen (Tom) Sluka of Milligan, Nebraska, Gail Daugherty of Omaha, Nebraska, Lee (Candace) Daugherty of Santa Fe, Texas; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
