Harold Herman Kuhlman was born May 4, 1935, to Alfred Herman and Mary Ann (Bonar) Kuhlman in Dunlap, Iowa. Harold attended Olympus Country School until the 8th grade. Harold married Deanna Mae Pryor on June 22, 1955. They lived in the Dunlap area purchasing an acreage in October of 1968. The couple was blessed with four children. Harold worked as a farm hand for several area farmers doing custom baling. He also worked at the Woodbine, Dunlap, and Moorhead sale barns. Deanna died on April 8, 1986. Harold met Linda Taylor in the spring of 1987.

Harold enjoyed farming, trucking, farm animals ~ especially his pigs. He also loved spending time with his family, visiting the neighbors and going to the casino. He moved to the retirement homes in Soldier, Iowa in October of 2005. In March of 2012 he became a resident of the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center.

Harold died on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 77 years and four days.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Deanna and Linda; son, David Kuhlman, five brothers, Kenneth, Leonard, Charles, Gerald and Leo Kuhlman. He is survived by his three children, Bonnita (Kevin) Melby of Soldier, Iowa, James Kuhlman of Soldier, Iowa, Keith (Kate) Kuhlman of Oto, Iowa; three step-sons, Robert (Kelly) Taylor of Omaha, Nebraska, Kevin (Holly) Taylor of Little Elm, Texas, Todd (Beth) Taylor of Fredericksburg, Virginia; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; five great grand-children; three sisters, Vera Wilson of Milliken, Colorado, Ruth Siler of Arvada, Colorado, Lois Surber of Woodbine, Iowa; two brothers, Merrill (AvaLee) Kuhlman of Alton, Missouri, Donald (Wanda) Kuhlman of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
