Harold Raymond Town was born July 11, 1928, in rural Custer County, Nebraska at the foot of the Sand Hills to Roy and Lula (Owen) Town. He was raised in Nebraska and attended country school. On August 8, 1954 Harold married Lynnette Williamson. Harold farmed, worked at John Deere, was a Teamsters member and a transportation business owner. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Harold loved the farm life and all the animals. His horses, dogs and Charolais cattle have always held a special place in his heart.

Harold died on Friday, April 3, 2015, with his family at his side as his battle with Parkinson's disease ended at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 86 years, eight months, and 23 days.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lynnette Town; brother, Wayne Town; and sister, Eva Drake. He is survived by his four children, Colette Day of Magnolia, Iowa, Colleen Tyson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Bruce Town and his wife Lisa of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Brad Town and his wife Katie of Atlanta, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Oscher of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Millie and her husband Bob Bugbee of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Bill Town and his wife Pat of Omaha, Nebraska and Bob Town and his wife Ann of Crescent, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
