Jake D. Gibson

     Jake D. Gibson, son of Lynn (Downey) Gregory, was born on April 6, 1985, in Louisville, Kentucky. He grew up in St. Charles, Illinois, where he attended school, graduating in 2003. Jake went on to further his education at college. He moved to Florida, where he worked as a marketing manager at a rehabilitation center for several years. Jake spent time working as a bartender at several locations throughout Florida, where he was known for his personable nature and ability to engage with people from all walks of life.

     An excellent athlete, Jake excelled in soccer and found joy in golf and tennis. His athletic talents were among his proudest accomplishments, reflecting a lifelong dedication to sport and physical activity. A devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, Jake especially relished the thrill of watching them triumph over the Chicago Bears. Outside of athletics and work, he cherished spending quality time with his family. His love for dogs and grilling in the backyard also brought great happiness to his life.

     Jake died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the age of 41 years, one month and three days.

     Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Marilyn Downey; uncles, Rob and Bill Downey; and aunt, Diane Downey. He is survived by his mother and many relatives and friends. He will be remembered as a man who lived fully and left the world a brighter place.
