Pastor James “Scott” Weber was born August 9, 1959, to Duane and Marceta (Whitmore) Weber in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised near Logan and graduated from Lo-Ma High School in 1977. Scott married Julie Peters on October 25, 1980, at the Logan Christian Church. The couple moved to Norfolk, NE where he graduated from Nebraska Christian College. They then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where Scott graduated from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary. He also graduated from Faith Baptist Seminary in Ankeny, IA. They started their full-time ministry at the Twin Cities Christian Church in Council Bluffs, IA. Scott and Julie helped to start the Central Christian Church and Faith Fellowship in Carroll, IA, Scott also ministered at the North Grand Christian Church in Ames, Iowa, Logan Christian Church, and various other churches and lastly was preaching at Southside Christian Church in Council Bluffs.
Scott loved sports, especially golfing and fishing. He was an avid coin collector, and loved finding treasures at the Goodwill Warehouse. His favorite thing to do was watching movies and playing games with his family. He was a “restaurant evangelist” and a jokester. Scott was a compassionate, kind-hearted and giving person. He lived his life to please Christ and gave to people selflessly.
Scott passed into glory on May 20, 2019, in his home of Logan, Iowa, at the age of 59 years, nine months, and 11 days.
Scott was preceded in death by his grand-parents and many other loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Julie Weber of Logan, Iowa; four daughters, Sarah and her husband Justin Miller of Macon, Missouri, Katie and her husband Bobby Morton of Shelby, Iowa, Hannah and her husband Brock Skow of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Molly and her husband Will Zoellner of Logan, Iowa; three grandchildren, Sydney Morton, Macie Miller and Noah Morton; parents, Duane and Marceta Weber of Logan; and many other relatives and friends.
