     Janice Kay Behm was born on January 23, 1941, to Edward and Maxine Barnum. Jan married Carl Behm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Woodbine on February 19, 1959. To that union they added four children: Michael, Tami, Yevette and Angela. Jan worked at Woodbine Produce and then went to nursing school at Iowa Western Community College where she received her LPN/RN nursing degree. She worked at Westmont Care Center in Logan and then Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.

     Jan was an avid baseball fan who rarely missed a Kansas City Royals baseball game. She liked to garden, mostly flowers. Jan was a beloved grandmother, wonderful friend and an adored mother. The imprint she left on those that knew her is not small and her absence will not go unnoticed.

    Jan died on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Azria Health Rose Vista at the age of 83 years, four months and four days.   

     Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Behm; brother, Terry Barnum; and parents, Edward Sr. and Maxine Barnum. She will be remembered by her children, Michael Behm and his wife Lisa of Omaha, Nebraska, Tami Hively of Woodbine, Iowa, YeVette and her husband Bill Penrose of McGregor, Iowa and Angela and her husband Junior Porter of Woodbine, Iowa; five grandchildren, Josh, Kayla, Jake, Christopher and Amie; seven great grandchildren, Alexa, Trenten, Lilyana, Isaiah, Madalynn, Isaac and Wyett; siblings, Eddie Barnum and his wife Patti of Gering, Nebraska, Cathy and her husband Rich Cline of Dunlap, Iowa, Deb and her husband Jim Delozier of Dunlap, Iowa and Marc Barnum of Woodbine, Iowa; sister-in-law, Sharon Barnum of Arizona; and many other family and friends.
