Janice Douglas

     Janice Rae (Golden) Douglas was born on September 7, 1941, along with her twin sister Janet, to William and Gladys (Overman) Golden in Woodbine, Iowa. She was raised in Woodbine and attended Woodbine High School. After high school, Janice worked as a household cleaner and also did some babysitting. Janice married Larry Douglas on August 28, 1960. The two were stationed in Missouri until Larry left to serve in Korea during the Vietnam conflict. The couple then made their home in Woodbine.

     Janice enjoyed crocheting and knitting, making dozens of beautiful doilies and afghans. She also thoroughly enjoyed trying new recipes and spending time cooking and baking. Janice loved camping and fishing, playing cards, dancing, and most of all, attending family gatherings and making memories with those she loved.

     Janice died on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Azria Health Rose Vista in Woodbine, at the age of 85 years and 14 days.

     Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Douglas; four brothers, Vernon Golden, Dwight Golden, Ernie Golden, and Kenny Golden; three sisters, Jessie Smith, Louise Jensen, and Lucille Mathison. She is survived by her sister Janet (Golden) Letson of Missouri Valley, Iowa; her beloved Birman cat Dolly; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
