Jim Knouse

James Rex Knouse was born December 9, 1945, to Rex and Hazel (Mertz) Knouse in Atlantic, Iowa. He was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1964. After his high school graduation, he worked at Western Electric. This company held his position until Jim's return from proudly serving his country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. Jim married Sandra Prazan on July 4, 1987, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple lived in Atlanta, Georgia for 20 years while Jim worked for AT&T. Jim retired from AT&T and then worked for Sprint. Jim also enjoyed working for Home Depot in Council Bluffs.

Jim was a member of the Celebration of Life Choir and he also played and sang in the Down to the River praise band. Jim enjoyed playing in two different 1960's bands, The Chevelle's and The Continental's. He played the guitar as well as sang.

Jim died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 72 years and 18 days.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Rex Knouse; brother, Jack Knouse; and niece, Deena Morrissey. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Knouse; three children, Michelle Cook, Joseph (Kathryn) Knouse, and Alexandria Knouse; eight grandchildren, Austin, Avery, Aiden, Ashton, Daphne, Rex, Michael, and Edward; mother, Hazel Knouse; sister, Sheryl (Jerry) Morrissey; and other relatives and friends.
