   John Henry Lewis was born November 12, 1908, in Woodbine, Iowa to William and Mary (Anderson) Lewis.  He grew up on a farm in Cass Township.  He attended Green Country School and Woodbine High School.  On February 3, 1930, John married Clara Mefferd in Papillion, Nebraska.  John farmed many years in the Woodbine and Magnolia area.  He established many relationships while selling Pioneer Seed Corn for over 20 years.  He loved hunting and also enjoyed and cared for his family.
   
   John died on October 27, 2004, at Alegent Health Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa attaining the age of 95 years, 11 months, and 15 days.
   
   John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara; daughter, Mary Jane; two infant children; his son-in-law, Bob Street; and four sisters, Pearl Davis, Lillian Tillman, Irene Tillman, and Iva Tillman.  He is survived by his three children, Joan and her husband Arlen "Butch" Ullrich of Logan, Iowa, Jack Lewis and his wife Betty of Papillion, Nebraska, Lorraine Street of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Jeff Ullrich and his wife Linda of Omaha, Nebraska, Mark Ullrich of Omaha, Nebraska, Steve Ullrich and his wife Tina of Trophy Club, Texas, Barbara and her husband Bill Buenz of Edina, Minnesota, Stephanie Lewis of Papillion, Nebraska, Becky and her husband Jeremy Werner of Omaha, Nebraska; five great grandchildren; sister Lenora and her husband Eddy Trimboli of Lakewood, New Jersey, and many other relatives and friends.
