Johnny White

     Johnny Wayne White was born on September 23, 1954, in Indio, California to Howard and Emma (Foster) White. He was raised in southern California. After graduating from high school, Johnny went to work as a mechanic and in his time as a mechanic he worked in California, Arkansas and Tennessee. Johnny started a long-term relationship with Virginia “Ginger” Tharp in 1991 while she was living in Arkansas. They lived together in Arkansas and Menphis, Tennessee before moving in August of 2022 to Woodbine, Iowa to be closer to Ginger’s family.

     Johnny loved spending time at home. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the NHRA drag races.

     Johnny died on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, three months and 19 days.

     Johnny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his partner of 34 years, Ginger Tharp; children, John McCoy of California, Nikki Schultz of Michigan and Joshua White of Michigan; eight grandchildren; brother, Dwight White and his wife Kathryn of Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
