Jonathan Dale Barclay was born October 29, 1948, to Francis and Lennah (Marlatt) Barclay in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He was raised in Harrison, Michigan and graduated from high school with the class of 1967. Jon married Carol Yeager in 1967, in Harrison, Michigan. The couple was blessed with three daughters, Janee, Carrie and Lynn. The couple lived in Houghton Lake, Michigan where Jon worked at Carter's Grocery Store. Jon then married Rosalee Thompson and the couple was blessed with one daughter, Crystal. Jon eventually moved to Byron, Michigan to be closer to Janee and her sons. He then moved to Logan, Iowa in 2009 to be closer to Lynn and her family.

Jon was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, trap, and hunt. Later in life, Jon followed Christ and began mentoring those struggling with alcohol and other addictions.

Jon died on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 66 years, seven months, and four days.

Jon was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Carrie Barclay; and brother, Matt Barclay. He is survived by three daughters, Janee and her husband Kevin Koc of Fenton, Michigan, Lynn and her husband Kevin Killpack of Logan, Iowa, Crystal and her husband Kevin Roberts of Lewiston, Michigan; eight grandchildren; mother, Lennah Phillips of Midland, Michigan; two brothers, Mark Barclay and his wife Vicki of Midland, Michigan, Dan Barclay and his special friend Judy Heintz of Harrison, Michigan; and many other relatives and friends.
