Judith Carolyn (Samuelson) Christensen was born on October 5, 1941, to Arnold and Edna (Sumner) Samuelson, on the family farm near Nelson Park in Crawford County, Iowa. During her youth, Judy lived in Wyoming and Nebraska; where she met and married Kenneth Christensen. The couple then moved to Iowa.
Judy was employed at Dubuque Packing in Denison and also owned the Dairy Treat in Dow City. She was later diagnosed with Spasmodic Torticollis, which caused her to give up many things she enjoyed. Camping and fishing were her favorites. She also had a passion for music. She loved to play the spoons, as well as many other instruments. She liked entering her 1987 Chrysler “Judy’s Rose” in car shows around the area and has won many trophies. Judy received a plaque from the Arion Booster Club for her art work that was chosen to be put on t-shirts and other memorabilia. She loved to cook and entertain family as well.
