Junior Porter

     Junior Allen Porter was born on July 6, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa to Robert and Eleanor (Allen) Porter. He grew up in the Logan and Missouri Valley, Iowa areas. Junior worked at the Schemmer Quarry in Logan. He was united in marriage to Angela Behm on August 15, 1997 in Denison, Iowa. The couple lived for a short time in Texas and in Denison, Iowa when Junior worked at the plant in Arion. After living in Dunlap for a short time they made Woodbine, Iowa their home. In recent years Junior worked at Rose Vista.

     Junior engaged in a variety of hobbies that brought him joy and allowed him to connect deeply with family and friends. A dedicated participant in local dart tournaments, he enjoyed the friendly competition and camaraderie that came with the game. His love for pool and bowling provided him with additional opportunities to showcase his skills and build lasting friendships. An avid outdoorsman, Junior had a profound affinity for fishing and camping

     Junior died on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Alegent Health Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley at the age of 70 years, one month and 30 days.

     Junior was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Clifford Torgerson. He is survived by his wife, Angie Porter of Woodbine; sisters, Susan Bosanko and Jessie Isaacs; bothers, Steven Torgerson and Norman Torgerson; and many other relatives and friends.
