Katie Fitzpatrick

Kathleen "Katie" Karen (Austin) Fitzpatrick was born on October 15, 1941, to John Alva and Hazel (Smith) Austin in Alameda, California. She was raised in the San Francisco Bay area in Oakland, California. On June 4, 1972, Katie married Joe Ray Fitzpatrick in Sunnyvale, California. The couple moved to Dunlap and then to Dow City.

Katie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dow City. She enjoyed going to garden tractor pulls, working in her flower garden, camping, and scrap booking.

Katie died on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 11 days.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Johnny Abernathy. She is survived by her husband, Joe Ray Fitzpatrick of Dow City, Iowa; two children, Annette and her husband Bob Burks of Omaha, Nebraska, Joe Mike Fitzpatrick and his wife Justice of Dow City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
