Kenneth Anderson

Kenneth John Anderson was born March 8, 1923, to Wallace and Marguerite (Pflieger) Anderson in Dunlap, Iowa. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School through the 8th grade and then Dunlap High School graduating with the class of 1941. On February 22, 1944, Kenneth married Lois Davie at the St. Patrick Church parsonage. The couple moved south of Dunlap to the "little" house and then in 1970 they moved up the road to the family farm. Lois died on September 16, 2012.

Kenneth was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dunlap. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He also enjoyed going to Canada with his various neighbors on fishing trips.

Kenneth died on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at his home in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 93 years, two months, and six days.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Anderson; son, Richard "Dick" Anderson; son-in-law, John W. Smith; granddaughter, Amy Heffernan; and sister, Ruth Gourley. He is survived by his five children, Donna (Paul) Weber, Phyllis Fouts, Mary Lou Smith, Betty "Buff" (Pat) Melby and Bill Anderson all of Dunlap, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Rose Thompson of Dunlap, IA; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; special Godson, Kenneth David Roberts; siblings-in-law, Ray Gourley of Antioch, California, Don (Jane) Davie of Dunlap, Iowa, Myra (Gene) Peterson of Omaha, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
