Kenneth Charles Johnson was born on January 8, 1920, to Charles and Elsie (Fewins) Johnson near Dunlap, Iowa. Kenneth attended country school and two years of high school in Dunlap. He moved with his parents to a farm east of Dunlap in 1936. He was very interested in farming and was a member of several farm organizations. Kenneth married Dolores Ann "Dort" Springer September 22, 1945, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap. The couple farmed east of Dunlap. They moved into Dunlap in 1984.

Kenneth was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was an active member of the Parish Council for many years. He also helped usher at many funerals. Kenneth enjoyed caring for his herd of Angus and Herford cows and calves. He spent a lot of time with his collection of toy tractors and trains and his antique Maytag motors that he restored. Kenneth looked forward to his morning coffee with the guys at the pizza place and then at Town and Country in the afternoon. He spent much of his time in the summer with nieces and nephews as they enjoyed vacations on his farm.

Kenneth died on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at the Dunlap Care Center at the age of 92 years, nine months, and 23 days.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores and Edmond Redding and Alice Rose and Thomas Cory. He is survived by his wife, Dort Johnson and many other relatives and friends.
